Origin/meaning

Woquard historically was part of Pewsum, the lion and stars are derived from the arms of Pewsum. The hills symbolise the mounds in the village, and is a canting symbol (ward = mound). The wheel symbolises the structure of the village, houses built in a circle around the church.
