DIRMSTEIN
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Bad Dürkheim
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Grünstadt-Land
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1927.
The town was granted city rights in the 16th century and again in 1780, but has lost the rights afterwards. The upper part of the arms show the lion of the Pfalz and the key of the bishops (Hochstift) of Worms. Both the counts of the Pfalz and the bishops of Worms ruled the town. The lower part of the arms is derived from a 15th century seal.
