Official blazon

Kilpi aaltokoroisesti sini-hopeakatkoinen; yläkentässä kultainen irtonainen kreikkalainen risti, alakentässä sininen vene.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 29, 1951.

The cross in the upper half is a canting symbol for the local medieval church (Kyrka). The wavy division line symbolises the fact that the municipality borders the sea. The boat symbolises the importance of sailing and fishing for the local economy.
