Province : Viken (until 2020 Buskerud)
Additions : 1964 Hole (until 1977), Hønefoss, Norderhov, Tyristrand, Ådal
Norwegian |
På rød bunn en gull ring. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 16, 1967.
The ring is a canting symbol and at the same time symbolises the unity of the area, which has been a separate entity (even considered a small kingdom) since medieval times. The colours are derived from the colours of the Norwegian kings, as in medieval times King Harald Fairhair of Norway was related to King Sigurd Hjort of Ringerike.
