WASSERBURG (BODENSEE)
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Lindau
Additions : 1972 Hege
German |
Geteilt von Silber und Blau; oben der Rumpf eines rotbewehrten schwarzen Bären, unten über blauen Wasserwellen eine zinnenbekrönte silberne Burg. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 3, 1954.
The castle above the waves is a canting element (the name means water-castle). The bear is the symbol of St. Gallus and thus for the fact that the area for many centuries was partly owned by the St. Gallen abbey. The blue and silver colours indicate that the area is part of Bayern since 1803.
