OBERAUERBACH
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
Urban district (Stadtkreis) : Zweibrücken
Incorporated into : 1972 Zweibrücken
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 12, 1962.
The colours and the lion are taken from the arms of the Dukes of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, who ruled the area until 1793. The horse-shoe and the antler refer to the other families that had possessions in the area. The horse-shoe is derived from the arms of the Knights von Orlebach, the antler from the arms of their successors, the Knights of Bitsch.
