Official blazon

Von Silber und Blau geteilt. Oben in Silber ein roter Giebel mit schwarzen Begrenzungsbalken. Aus dem unteren Giebelbalken wachsend eine goldene, herschauende Madonna mit dem Jesuskind auf dem linken Arm, einem Zepter in der rechten Hand und einer dreizackigen Krone auf dem Haupt. Unten in Blau das sechsspeichige silberne Mainzer Rad mit schwarzem Achsnagel und zwölf schwarzen Nagelköpfen auf dem Radkranz.

The arms were officially granted on ??

The upper part shows a typical roof for the area, and symbolise the long inhabitation of the villages. The base shows the wheel of the State of Mainz, as part of the municipality historically belonged to Mainz. The wheel has 12 black nails, one for each of the villages in the Samtgemeinde.

The upper half shows an image of St. Mary and refers to the famous statue in Germershausen, which is a well-known place of pilgrimage.

The blue and silver colours have been taken from the arms of Knight Bertram von Bilshausen.
