Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 26, 2003.
The arms refers to old traditions of education (the Lithuanian school of Ginkūnai was established in 1896 as an underground school, when the legal prohibition of Lithuanian language was still effectuated) and spiritually rich people.
