The arms are derived from the common seal of Doel and Kieldrecht from the 16th century. The ship probably shows the importance of shipping on the Schelde river, and/or the many inundations caused by the river. The small shields with the fleur-de-lis are of unknown origin. The letter K is the town's initial. See also the arms of [[Doel]].

Origin/meaning

The first arms were granted on April 29, 1818 and new arms on January 26, 1849.

See also the arms of Doel.
