NO 1700 SQUADRON, FAA

History: First formed as an Air-Sea Rescue Unit aboard HMS Ameer for Aircrew shot down over Burma.

The Badge was approved on 6 July 1945 with another Motto: Ex mari messis translated as "Our harvest is from the sea".
