German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

EGGLKOFEN

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Mühldorf am Inn
Additions : 1934 Harpolden, Tegernbach

Official blazon

In Rot über einem silbernen Granatapfel ein mit drei silbernen Pfauenfedern besteckter silberner Spitzhut.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 2, 1982.

The arms combine elements of the arms of three families that owned the Egglkofen estate as well as the Neuherberg castle in the municipality. The helmet is taken from the arms of the Herberger zu Herbergen family, owners of the estate from 1215-1563. The pomegranate is taken from the arms of the Counts of Montgelas, who acquired the estate in 1833. The colours are taken from the Dachseberg family, who ruled the area from 1702-1797.
