LOBMACHTERSEN

State: Niedersachsen
Urban district (Kreisfreie Stadt): Salzgitter
Incorporated into: 1942 Salzgitter

Wappen von Lobmachtersen/Arms (crest) of Lobmachtersen
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on January 27, 1989.

The arms show a historical oven to purify iron from the iron-rich soil in the area. A similar oven was excavated in 1953 in a Germanic village and had been used from approximately the first to the fifth century AD. The red colour indicates the fire. The leaves and the green colour symbolise the nature in the area. The branch also is a canting element, as 'Lob' means a type of open forest.
