SUTTON URBAN DISTRICT

Incorporated into : 1928 Sutton and Cheam (1965 London Borough of Sutton)

Arms (crest) of Sutton (Urban District)
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

I have no idea whether these arms were officially granted or used by the council. They were used on a postcard from around 1906.

The arms are those of the Lamplugh family, Lords of the Manor of Sutton. The Lordship of the Manor of Sutton has been held by the Lamplugh family almost continuously since 1880.
