Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 6, 1987.

The ship is a representation of the schooner 'Rebecca', while the fish alludes to the fish processing industry. The two ports of Beauty Point and Inspection Head are symbolised by the embattled ends of the chief.
The green colour refers to agriculture particularly orcharding, represented by the pears and the apple The gold part of the shield and the bezants refer to the importance of gold mining in the past at Beaconsfield.

The black bull is from the House of York, as York Town was named after Frederick Augustus, Duke of York.
The lion comes from the arms of Benjamin Disraeli, Lord Beaconsfield, the British Prime Minister.

The beehive in the crest is a symbol of industry, as well as alluding to the residential parts of the municipality. The two beacons on the green mount are a rebus of 'beacons' 'field'.
