Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 23, 2003.

The arms shows the location of the borough: two villages, both named Sakalai ("sakalas" refers to "falcon" in Lithuanian), separated by Viesve river. In Lithuania the falcon also symbolizes warrior, defender.
