Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 17, 1980.

The arms show in the upper part a golden lion, taken from the arms of the former district of Braunschweig, to which the village belonged until 1974, as well as the arms of Cremlingen. The base shows the wings of the local windmill, a typical landmark for the village.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
