Escudo de negro, um cavaleiro de armadura, cerco e manto, com espada alçada na mão direita e no braço esquerdo um escudo carregado de uma cruz de Santiago, de vermelho, montado num cavalo empinado, tudo de prata, o cavalo selado e enfreado de negro realçado a ouro. No cantão direito do chefe, dois martelos de prata, postos em pala e alinhados em faixa. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco com os dizeres : " VILA DE MÉRTOLA ", de negro.
