Origin/meaning
The Silver Cross on a Red beckground has since the Middles Ages been an Heraldic symbol for Northern Estonia. The Sword symbolises the Defence Forces and Combat Readiness. The Roundel symbolises a round Shield and a Defensive Circle. The Eight-pointed Star symbolises the Northern Star an ancient sign och Hapiness and Protection.
