HERRSCHING AM AMMERSEE

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Starnberg
Additions : 1972 Widdersberg; 1978 Breitbrunn am Ammersee

Wappen von Herrsching am Ammersee

Official blazon

Geteilt durch einen silbernen Wellenbalken; oben in Blau eine fliegende silberne Möwe, unten gerautet von Weiß und Blau.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 4, 1954.

The upper half of the arms show the fact that the municipality borders the Ammersee (lake). The lower half shows the arms of Bayern, as the area became a possession of the Dukes of Bayern in 1248.
