Region : Uusimaa (2009-2011 (Itä-Uusimaa)
Former province : 1997-2009 Etelä-Suomi, until 1997 Uusimaa

Ruotsinpyhtää Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Sinisessä kentässä alainen aaltokoroinen hirsi, jonka yläpuolella vino vasararisti; molemmat kultaa.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 21, 1961.

The wavy bar refers to the Kymijoki river in the municipality. The four hammers in a cross refer to the Strömfors iron factory in the town. The colours are the Swedish colours, as the town is mainly Swedish-speaking.
