SANTA JUSTA

Municipality : Arraiolos
District : Évora

Brasão de Santa Justa (Arraiolos)

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on August 18, 1997.

The two oak branches symbolise the importance of cork oaks for the local economy. The jug is a symbol for Saint Just, the local patron saint. The apple (pêro, should be a pear) is the symbol of the previous name of the town, which was Pereiro.
