RENDEL
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Wetteraukreis (until 1975 Friedberg-Hessen)
Incorporated into : 1970 Karben
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1957.
The eagle heads are taken from the old 18th century seal of the village, which shoed the imperial eagle. Rendel belonged to the imperial estate of Friedberg. The rose was added as a symbol for St. Mary, patron saint of the village.
In 1955 slightly different arms were adopted by the council:
These arms show instead of the rose a stick. This was a symbol of justice, for the Freigericht (court) of Kaichen. As the court was not limited to Rendel, the symbol was not considered appropriate and was replaced by a rose.
