WELLENSTEIN
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 22, 1985.
Wellenstein has always been a possession of the Counts of Luxembourg, and thus the lower part of the arms show the arms of Luxembourg. The bars in the arms are made wavy as a canting symbol (Welle=wave). The upper part shows a grape vine with three leaves. The main source of income in Wellenstein is viticulture, whereas the three leaves represent the three villages in the municipality.
