Im roten Schild ein silberner gekrönter steigender Leopard.
Origin/meaning
The arms are granted in 1951 for the municipality of Oesede and confirmed in 1970 for the new town of Georgsmarienhütte. The show the arms of the Lords of Oesede. The family extincted in 1363 and had founded the local convent in 1170. The convent also used the lion of the family. The colours are derived from the county of Ravensberg.
