Origin/meaning
The arms were used from 1985, but were never officially granted.
The arms show an Iron Age boat, which was discovered in the municipality in 1863. The wind mill blades refer to the modern windmills in the area, the wate rmill wheel to the former Nydam water mill. The waves refer the Als Strait.
