The cross and orb are a symbol for Queen Agnes of Hungary, founder of the hospital in Baden, to which the village historically belonged (the cross is derived from the arms of [[Hungary]], see also [[Fislisbach]]). The star is derived from the arms of the Wettingen Abbey, which ruled the village of Staretschwil in the municipality (see also [[Neuenhof]]).
