AHLE

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Herford
Amt : Amt Ennigloh
Incorporated into : 1969 Bünde

Wappen von Ahle

Official blazon

(de)

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 30, 1938.

The arms show in the upper part a flying duck and in the base three chevrons.
The duck is a symbol for the former marshlands in the area and it is flying towards the sun, which symbolises the future. The municipality had applied for the use of a heron, but the Prussian State Archives decided for a duck.

The chevrons and the colours are taken from the arms of the Ravensberg County, to which the area historically belonged.
