Escudo de ouro, ponte metálica de um só arco, de negro, movente dos flancos e nascente de uma campanha ondada de azul e prata, de cinco peças; em chefe, livro aberto de prata, encadernado de vermelho, carregado de três bolsas de azul, encordoadas de vermelho. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro em maiúsculas : “ S. NICOLAU - PORTO “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 22, 1997.
The bridge is the typical Don Luis I bridge in the municipality. The waves symbolise the Douro river. The book and the three sacks are the symbol of the local patron siant, St. Nicholas.
