BAD FALLINGBOSTEL
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Heidekreis/Soltau-Fallingbostel (until 1981 Fallingbostel)
Additions : 1974 Dorfmark, Jettebruch, Mengebostel, Riepe, Vierde
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
Fallingbostel became a city in 1949 and at the same time the arms were granted. The colour red symbolises the heather, as the city is situated on the Lüneburger Heide, a large country full of heather. The beehive symbolises the longtime tradition to keep bees on the heather. The upper part shows a typical decoration of the farm roofs in Niedersachsen (see also Fischerhude and Buchholz]]). The wave in the base of the shield shows the Böhme river that runs through the city.
