Origin/meaning
Eversberg developed around a castle of the Counts of Arnsberg and received city rights in 1242. The oldest seal dates from the end of the 13th century and already shows the combination of a canting boar (Eber) and the arms of the Counts of Arnsberg. When in 1368 the city became part of Westfalen, the arms did not change.
The arms did not change until 1912 when slightly different arms were granted. The historical arms were restored in 1937.
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
