The arms show the local Assumption Church, one of the historical and architectural monuments of general national importance. The lions on the sides of the church symbolize protection. The silver refers to the Dniester river, the black points to the  "Vala Trajan" national monument.
 
The previous arms were granted on February 19, 2001.
