PRATS DE LLUÇANÈS

Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona

Escudo de Prats de Lluçanès

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'atzur, un castell d'or tancat de gules, cantonat de 4 roses d'argent. Per timbre una corona mural de vila.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 23th September 1999.

The arms of Prats de Lluçanès have shown traditionally the castle of Lluçà, linked to the history of the town, that was born during the 17th century. The four heraldic roses are an allusion to the name Prats, meaning "meadows" in Catalan.
