Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona

Escudo de Vilaür

Official blazon

Escut caironat: de sinople, una vila d'or sobremuntada de 3 còdols d'or malordenats. Per timbre, una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

Canting arms: they show a walled town ("vila" in Catalan means town). The three stones above are the attribute of St. Stephen, the patron saint of the village: this protomartyr was stoned to death. These arms have been officially granted on 26th March 1991.
