BOUZIGUES

Département : Hérault

Blason de Bouzigues

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on June 5, 2003.

The arms are base don the fact that ini the 17th century the jurisdiction over Bouzigues was split between the Bishop of Agde and the De Bouziguws family. The bishop is symbolised by the crosier and three small wavy bars, taken from the arms of Agde. The tower shows the castle of the De Bouzigues family.

The blue colour and waves also refer to the Étang de Thau lake.
