WIEN-GRINZING
State : Wien (Vienna)
Origin/meaning
The arms show a man, holding a grape. Viticulture has always been of high importance to Grinzing, where there are many vintners to this day. There are also many "Heurigen": Traditionally, vintners may open a sort of public house to sell this year's wine ("heuriger Wein") of their own produce. Today, Heurigen are in fact often restaurants and still common in this part of the city.
Grinzing is now part of the 19th municipal district, Döbling.
