HØYANGER

Province : [{Vestland]] (until 2020 Sogn og Fjordane)
Additions : 1964 Kyrkjebø, Lavik

Arms (crest) of Høyanger

Official blazon

På blå grunn tre sølv flammer i skrå rekkje.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 15, 1987.

The arms show three flames as a symbol for the local aluminium industry. Aluminium is melted and purified in the area, dus to the cheap hydroelectric energy that is locally available. The water is symbolised by the blue colour.
