The arms refer to the Panigida family, which had a number of possessions in the village and played a major role in its history. Their arms were a black stone bridge on a silver field. The ibex horn was added and refers to the [[Diocese of Chur]] (a black ibex on silver) , as the family performed a number of church functions for the diocese as early as 1400.
