Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
ALPENROD
State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Westerwaldkreis
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Hachenburg
Official blazon
In Gold ein blauer Schrägbalken, belegt mit drei silbernen Kugeln, oben drei stilisierte grüne Bäume, untern eine rote Glocke.
Origin/meaning
The three silver balls refer to the medieval Schönhals zu Albrechtenrode family, who originated from the village. At the same time the balls refer to the three villages in the municipality, Alpenrod, Dehlingen and Hirtscheid.
The bell refers to the local parish, the trees to the forests. The colours are those of the County Sayn, to which the village historically belonged.
