Heraldry of the World Civic heraldry of Germany - Deutsche Wappen (Gemeindewappen/Kreiswappen) |
POHLHEIM
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Giessen
Additions : 1971 Dorf-Güll, Garbenteich, Grüningen, Hausen, Holzheim, Watzenborn-Steinberg
Official blazon
In Rot eine geschweifte goldene Spitze mit einem blauen Limes-Wachturm; vorn ein goldener Eichenzweig, hinten zwei in goldene Notenlinien gesetzte, ebenfalls goldene Achtelnoten.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 15, 1975.
The point and the watch tower symbolise the Roman limes (border) that ran through the municipality. The music symbol is taken from the arms of Watzenborn-Steinberg. The oak refers to the forests in the municipality and was also part of some of the old arms.
