Escudo de ouro com um machado e uma enxó de vermelho, passadas em aspa, acompanhadas por roda de navalhas do mesmo e por roda dentada de negro dispostas em pala, encimando ponte de negro firmada e movente dos flancos; ponta ondada de azul e prata, de três tiras. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro: “ LORDELO DO OURO “.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 20, 1996.
The arms show one of the bridges over the Douro river, which runs along the town. The two wheels are the wheel of St. Catherine (top), patron saint of the town, and an wheel symbolising the local industry. The meaning of the axes I do not know.
