Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 25, 1996.
The chequered cross is a combination of the symbol of the local patron saint, Santa Cruz, and the arms of the Barons Pombalinho. The cross also refers to a recently discovered Roman road with a distinctive stone pattern.
The green shield, the bunch of grapes and the flax-stick symbolise agriculture and the two main crops in the parish. The two pigeons (pombas) are a canting element.
