In Silber aus silbernen Wolken wachsend der golden nimbierte heilige Nikolaus in rotem Ornat und mit roter Mitra, in der Rechten den goldenen Bischofsstab, in der Linken ein rotes Buch, darauf drei goldene Kugeln. Origin/meaningThe arms are first seen on the local seal dating from the late 18th century. The arms show St. Nicholas, the patron saint of the old church in Waal. On November 22, 1836 the arms were officially granted. The colours are known since 1812.
