BUCHHOLZ

State : Berlin

Wappen von Buchholz (Berlin)
Official blazon
German

Origin/meaning

Buchholz was a separate municipality until 1920. The only known seal of the municipality dates from the middle of the 19th century and already shows a canting beech (Buche) tree under the eagle of Brandenburg. It is not known when the arms were first used.

Buchholz was part of East Berlin during DDR times, but was allowed to continue the arms, including the eagle, unlike some other parts of East Berlin at the time.
