Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 15, 1924.
The arms show St. Wendelin as a shepard and on the base a crown. Not shown on the image are the black letters S and W besides the shield as these are no longer used. Saint Wendelin (Wendelinus) is the patron saint of the village. The letters S and W stand for Sanctus Wendelinus. The arms are based on the old seal of the village, known since 1721 which showed the saint, with the crown, and the letters HB for Hatzen-Bühl.
