GOSDORF
State : Steiermark
District : Südoststeiermark (until 2015 Bad Radkersburg)
Additions : 1969 Diepersdorf, Fluttendorf
Incorporated into : 2015 Mureck
Official blazon
In einem von Silber zu Grün geteilten Schild oben ein blauer wachsender, gezinnter Turm mit zwei durchbrochenen Fenstern, unten zwei silberne gekreuzte Schwerter.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 14th, 1970.
The tower represents the lost castle of Trutzenau (castles disappeared quite often in these parts - mostly, because they were no longer inhabited and the local people had other uses for the stones).
In 1707, Austrian troops fought successfully against the Kuruzzen, rebelling Hungarian riders; the swords commemorate this encounter.
