Origin/meaning
The arms show the patron saint of the city, St. Catherine with her symbol, the (broken) wheel. The two trees (Buche) are canting. Mining has been of importance in the area since the 15th century, which is symbolised by the miner's tools.
Seal of the city from around 1900. |
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
