Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 24, 1911.

Grevenstein was founded in 1320 by the Counts of Arnsberg. The oldest seal dates from 1348 and shows the eagle of the Counts of Arnsberg. Later seals showed the same compposition. The above arms were granted in 1911 in the opposite colours of Arnsberg, to distinguish the two arms.
