Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 5, 1991.
The upper part shows the eagle of the Principality of Schwarzburg, the lower the lion of the State of Coburg and the arms of Sachsen. The latter symbolises the former Duchy of Sachsen-Coburg.
These arms replaced older arms, dating from ?? These showed in the upper half three pine trees and in the lower a letter R in a cave-like shape. I have no ideas on the colours of these arms.
Postal cancellation 1993 (!) with the old arms |
