Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 19, 1952.
The wavy bar is taken from the arms of the Karlstad hundred seal, known from 1643. The bar most likely symbolises the Klarälven river. The small golden bar refers to the timer transport and timber industry in the town.
