Origin/meaning

The arms show in the upper part the key and sword taken from the arms of Kettenbach and Michelbach.

The base is canting, showing mountains (Berge) with wheat-ears (Aare). The colours are those on Nassau, as most of the municipality historically belonged to Nassau.
